We found Khoi’s piano studio via Yelp. My son and niece have been taking piano lessons for a while and they have been participating in the National Guild every year. We wanted to look for a teacher who participates in this program. Khoi has been involved heavily in the Guild for many years. From the initial contact, Khoi was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. He also asked a lot of questions to make sure he understood what level the kids were at. Khoi is an excellent teacher, the kids love him. He’s very detail oriented and very clear on his expectations for the kids. He gives us updates on their progress and what they need to work on. Khoi is very punctual and reliable, which I appreciate, as that was a problem with our previous teacher. I highly recommend Brightstar PianoForte Studio.

Khoi is a wonderful person and also a very good teacher. He is an excellent coach and a very patient trainer. My son has been learning Piano for last 5 years and never want to miss his class anytime so far. He gets along with kids so easily and brings out their talent and also he has a very good talent of recognizing the talent. Overall he is a wonderful soul inside, and very talented teacher.

My sons, ages 7 and 12, and their grandma have been taking lessons for several months now and it’s been a very positive experience. Joe is their piano teacher and we found his style to be a good fit for our family. He keeps things fun and energetic and very positive. I’ve seen my boys grow from only playing with 1 hand and at the beginning stages of reading notes to now playing with 2 hands, progress in reading notes, and learning the ‘technical’ aspects of playing. My mom loves the lessons, it’s been a lifelong dream of hers to learn an instrument and she is so happy with how much she’s learned in a short time. It’s never too late to learn! Khoi, who is the owner, also made it a point to come over and meet us, see how our progress is, make sure we’re happy with the lessons. I definitely recommend them and particularly Joe since he’s the one who’s been working with us.

Khoi was initially recommended for piano lessons by several friends, to whom we will forever be grateful! I very quickly understood why everyone sung his praises. I was immediately impressed and inspired by Khoi’s passionate, enthusiastic approach to music and teaching. “Mr. Khoi” has now been teaching our daughter (age 11) piano for three years and our son (age 8) for a year. He has such a warm, gentle, patient nature, with a good sense of humor. His teaching methods include an effective combination of technique, theory, and expression. He believes in working with each individual’s unique personalities, strengths, and needs. We all look forward to the lessons each week as our home is filled with beautiful music. We especially love when Khoi joins the children in duets! It leaves them feeling so proud and part of something even bigger than the learning of their own individual parts. On occasion, we’ve also gotten the privilege to hear him play solos — he is a magnificent pianist and leaves us in awe every time. Our children are always left feeling excited about their own future potential as musicians after watching/hearing Mr. Khoi play. We’ve also appreciated the opportunities for the kids to perform in fun recitals and national certification programs, increasing their exposure to and comfort with performing. We have been lucky enough to have Khoi in our lives for the last 7 years. He started with our oldest when our son was just 4 and has been working with him each week building his confidence and nurturing a love of music that has enriched every area of his life. Our younger son started lessons just a few years later.

By participating in the many milestone performances that bring Khoi’s students together our boys have identified a community of piers who celebrate together the progress they have made.

We do believe that whatever challenges our boys face on the road ahead, the lessons they have learned about what they can do when they put their minds to it, and the sense of personal value and appreciation that Khoi has instilled in them, will benefit and guide them to great things.

Khoi has been teaching our daughter Bella-Lucia for almost two years now. In that time her piano playing ability has grown leaps and bounds.
Khoi is such a gifted teacher. He is beyond patient and always has a beautifully sunny disposition that puts my daughter at ease, even when she may be struggling with a new piece or particular skill.
After assigning her a new piece, once she can play it with ease, he accompanies her in playing the song; that’s the highlight of the lesson for me. It’s so exciting, and she feels so accomplished when she can keep up with him. I always record them playing together; it’s such a treat!
She is so eager to please him. He’s like a sweet big brother teaching her a new and beautiful language but is quick to correct and demonstrate better technique so she is always improving.
My daughter always looks forward to her lesson with “Mr. Khoi”, and at the end of her lesson, she’s excited about her new assignments and what she accomplished.
He’s a pleasure to have in my home, we feel so blessed to have such a lovely young man teaching our daughter, and consider him a family friend, even our cats love him!

Mr. Khoi has been the teacher for our 3 kids for almost 5 years.. He is the best teacher we ever had, not only does he teach them the best technique but how to feel the music within their soul. He is patient, kind and very caring about the improvement of their skills, he insists on the right technique instead of just knowing how to play and this is how my kids are learning the best.
