FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What will I learn in private music lessons?
           This question is often asked by prospective students. Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals. We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. A six-year-old having their first piano lesson will have very different needs than a fifty-six-year-old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child.  Every student is different.
           One of the main reasons for choosing Brightstar PianoForté Studio as your music lesson provider is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.  If you enroll here for lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences.  In the first lesson, your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music and set goals to help you accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.
          That being said, there are some similarities in all lessons.  Foundational principles are emphasized in all of our lessons as students progress through a customized music lesson curriculum, learning repertoire, and studying fundamentals necessary for all levels of performance. All of our music lessons include studies in music theory, ear training, sight reading, technique, and music history.
          While we are definitely believers in making sure all of our students learn and practice the fundamentals of their instruments, we also make sure that our students have fun while doing it!  You’ll have the opportunity to learn the songs you want to learn…the right way.

          Our music instructors are the best in the music business, and most hold undergraduate and/or advanced degrees from Conservatory and San Diego State University. All of our instructors have warm personalities and are extremely caring and enthusiastic to help you achieve your lesson goals.
